1) THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM AVAILABLE AND CURRENTLY OFFERED FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT GYANMANJARI INNOVATIVE UNIVERSITY (GMIU) IS: BACHELOR IN PHARMACY


2) GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION PROCESS

Application Process for International Students:

STEP 1:

  • Enroll yourself and select an academic program for enrolling into admission. Alternatively, send your academic certificates mentioning the program name that you are interested in at irc@gmiu.edu.in.

STEP 2:

  • Upon uploading the necessary documents, academic document verification will take place, further communication will be prevailed based on the document verification by the University.

STEP 4:

  • Following university verification, an offer letter (Conditional / Unconditional) will be issued and sent to the student's registered email address.

STEP 5:

  • Upon receiving the offer letter, make the payment as specified in the offer letter through bank transfer, wire transfer, or online payment, and submit the receipt.

STEP 6:

  • After confirming receipt of fees by the University accounts, an Acceptance letter (Visa Letter) or a bonafide letter will be issued.
  • This letter is necessary to apply for a Student Visa at the nearest Indian Embassy/ High Commission in your home country. Refer to the acceptance letter for important post-arrival requirements.

Note:

  • Students who are awaiting their final results are eligible for admission.
  • Each program has specific eligibility criteria; please check with the institute for more information on the same.
  • The admission to the program is subject to fulfillment of the specific eligibility criteria.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission.
  • Completion of the application and payment of the application fee does not mean acceptance of eligibility.
  • Final eligibility for admission will be decided by Gyanmanjari Innovative University (GMIU) after submission of all the required documents.

3) FEES PAYMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS


A. Guideline for the Payment of Fee using (Wired Transfer) for International Student 

It is advisable to remit Tuition, Accommodation, and Food Fees via wire transfer, transferring the funds from the student/parent's bank account to the designated bank account of Gyanmanjari Innovative University (GMIU).

B. Guideline for Payment of Fee using International Card by Bank (Need to Obtain if any) 

  • Process for Payment with respective payment mode.
  • Generated Acknowledgement after successful payment by Payment Gateway and share to University representative on irc@gmiu.edu.in.

4) GUIDANCE ON IMMIGRATION AND VISA PROCESS

Visas for students are granted with a validity of up to five years, contingent upon the length of the enrolled course. In India, extensions are also possible. Additionally, individuals holding valid Student visas are permitted entry into India through any preferred immigration checkpoint, including airports and seaports.

A) FOREIGNER REGIONAL REGISTRATION OFFICES (FRRO) 


Registration Requirement for Foreign National/International Citizens :


As mentioned on website of “BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India” link - http:/ boi.gov.in/content/registration-requirements-foreign-national and concerned with the University, that every Foreigner visiting India on Student Visa(S) for more than 180 days is required to get himself / herself registered with concerned FRRO , within 14 days of his/her first arrival, irrespective of the duration of his / her stay. Even in other Visa types, if the Indian Visa has a stipulation/ observation/ Special endorsement for registration made by Indian Mission / Embassy on the Indian Visa for less than 180 days, the Foreigners are required to be registered.


FORM–S (Foreign Students Information System) is used to capture information about foreign nationals admitted in Indian educational institutions. It is mandatory for all educational
institutions in India admitting foreign students for various courses to register themselves first. After their user-id approved by the competent authority i.e. FRRO/ district FRO concerned, the said institution will be able to fill the details of foreign students in Form-S viz (Student Profile, Performance etc. in case of application for extension).


B) Documents Required For the FSIS No :

  • Form-S & Bonafide Certificate (Duly filled in and signed & stamped by the concerned
  • Authorities mentioned in the form)
  • Copy of the admission/registration folio
  • Residential Proof
  • Passport and VISA Copy
  • Visa copy
  • Bank Statement or Bank Passbook

  • Submit the S-Form and Bonafide Certificate, accompanied by the aforementioned supporting documents, to either the Administrative Office or the International Relations Cell (IRC).

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED ONLINE ON FRRO PORTAL FOR OBTAINING SERVICES FROM FRRO/FROS

Student Visa (Provisional Registration)

  • Photograph: Attach a passport-sized photo of the applicant.
  • Passport and Visa Documents: Provide the photo page, pages indicating validity, the page with the arrival stamp from Indian Immigration, and the visa with endorsements.
  • Proof of Residence: Furnish a provisional address issued by the Head of Department, Principal, or the Director of the International Studies Centre of the University or Educational Institution concerned.
  • Bonafide Certificate: Include a Bonafide student Certificate from the Educational Institution concerned.
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate): For students enrolling in MBBS/BDS courses with a provisional student visa, submission of a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of
  • Health & Family Welfare is mandatory.


Student Visa (Final Registration)

  • Photograph: Submit a passport-sized photo of the applicant.
  • Passport and Visa Documents: Include the photo page, pages indicating validity, pages with the arrival stamp from Indian Immigration, and the visa with endorsements.
  • Proof of Residence: Provide a copy of Form C from the hotel or lodge, or submit an electricity bill, landline telephone bill, or municipal bill from the landlord. If staying with a relative or friend, include a letter and photo ID card from the landlord. For rented accommodation, submit a copy of the Lease and License agreement (1st and last page, and the page containing its validity). If staying in a university or educational institution hostel, include a letter from the relevant authority confirming accommodation.
  • Form S / Bonafide Certificate: Submit the Form S or Bonafide certificate as required.

C) WHAT IS FRRO? FRRO OVERVIEW AND COMMON FRRO QUERIES:

Online FRRO Service Delivery System eliminates the need for in-person visits to FRRO/FRO offices. No appointment scheduling or office visits necessary unless expressly summoned by the FRRO/FRO.

  • Online platform designed to establish a centralized web-based system for visa-related services catering to foreigners. Its primary goal is to offer Faceless, Cashless, and Paperless services to foreign nationals, ensuring a user-friendly experience.
  • Through this platform, foreigners are tasked with creating a personalized USER-ID by completing the registration process. Subsequently, they can conveniently apply online, using their registered user-id, for various visa and immigration services in India, such as Registration, Visa Extension, Visa Conversion, Exit Permit, and more, eliminating the need to visit the FRRO office.

5) BEFORE-ARRIVAL IMPORTANT CHECKPOINTS AND BRIEFING

Ensure the following aspects before departing your home country as a student: 


Gyanmanjari Innovative University (GMIU) is located just 3 hours and 57 minutes away (185.9 km) via NH47 and NH 751 from Ahmedabad International Airport (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport). Remember to book your ticket to Ahmedabad International Airport after obtaining a Valid Student Visa from the Indian Embassy/High Commission in your respective country.

  • Verify that you have received all necessary vaccinations, including Yellow Fever, Typhoid Vaccine, Hepatitis Vaccine, etc., to prevent medical complications while in India. 
  • Notify Gyanmanjari Innovative University (GMIU) - International Relations Cell (IRC), about your Airport pickup at least one week prior to arrival. Provide complete flight details.
  • Confirm that you bring the Gyanmanjari Innovative University's Admission Letter, along with all Certificates/Degrees and Transcripts (in original) and 15-20 passport size photographs.
  • Consider carrying your money in the form of Travellers Cheques, easily redeemable at the airport, foreign exchange offices, and banks. Alternatively, you can use International Debit/Credit Cards.
  • Be aware that temperatures range between 35 to 45 degrees Celsius during summers and 10 to 25 degrees Celsius during winters. Prepare accordingly with warm materials like blankets, quilts, and woolens, especially if arriving around November when the winter season begins.
  • The electric standard in India operates on 240 V. Ensure you have an adapter for your mobile or laptop if it operates on a different voltage in your country. Additionally, electric sockets are 2 or 3 Pin, so carry a converter if needed.
  • While most items are available in India, try to procure essential items that you would require for the initial days.

6) AFTER-ARRIVAL IMPORTANT CHECKPOINTS AND BRIEFING

Ensure the following aspects after arriving in India as a student:

  • After arriving at Ahmedabad International Airport (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport), the University will organize an Airport Pickup for students who have provided their flight details to the GMIU International Relations Cell (IRC).
  • Students are required to check in at the International Relations Cell (IRC) and present all necessary documents to the reporting officer.
  • The IRC staff will scrutinize and authenticate the documents. Subsequently, students must complete the registration form and submit the necessary paperwork after a thorough reading to enroll in their respective programs.
  • All international students, excluding those from Nepal and Bhutan, must register their Student Visa at FRRO Ahmedabad within 14 days of entering India. The University will provide guidance and support for the required processes.
  • Students are obligated to visit the GMIU International Relations Cell (IRC) for a medical checkup and may also obtain their Medical Insurance Card.
  • Admission may be declined for students who join the university after the specified time frame.
  • It is the primary responsibility of the student to timely visit the GMIU International Relations Cell (IRC) to complete the necessary documentation, ensuring no fines are imposed.

7) ACCOMODATION FACILITIES: 

Girls and Boys Hostel Facilities:

We facilitate individual and separate Girls and Boys Hostel, a comfortable and secure living space designed to cater to the unique needs of our students. Our hostel provides a conducive environment for academic pursuits and personal growth. Our hostel is designed to provide a nurturing environment that promotes both personal and academic growth. The key features of our hostels are: Modern Accommodation, Security, Study Spaces, Wi-Fi Connectivity, Safe and Supportive Environment, and Comfortable Living Spaces.

9) GENERAL FAQs FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

We understand that transitioning to a new country can be both exciting and challenging. Below, you'll discover information addressing general questions and concerns you might be
pondering.

  • Campus Reporting: Upon your arrival, your first point of contact for joining formalities at the University will be the International Relations Cell Division, located on the First Floor of the University Office on campus. Obtain your UID (University Identification Number) during this process.
  • Indian Sim Card Purchase: To acquire an Indian Sim card, you can submit photocopies of your passport or University Identity Card along with two passport-sized photographs at various mobile shops. For reduced roaming charges, it is recommended to purchase a sim card within Gujarat state, with availability on the University campus.
  • Wi-Fi Access: While Wi-Fi access within the campus is unavailable, you can utilize your personal devices such as tablets, smartphones, laptops, etc. Alternatively, there are dedicated computer labs within the campus for internet-related activities.
  • Parent Facilities: For parents accompanying their children, separate rooms in both girls' and boys' hostels are allocated. However, prior notification of the parent's arrival, along with their ward, is essential and should be communicated to the International Relations Cell.
  • Post-Registration Steps: Following the completion of registration formalities, proceed to your respective department for attendance in scheduled classes.
  • Pending Documents Submission: In the event of being unable to submit certain transcripts and qualification documents during admission, submission is required within one week of reporting at the University. Results-awaiting students must provide an undertaking for prompt verification upon result publication.
  • Hostel Accommodation Fee Payment: Ideally, hostel accommodation fees are paid annually in advance due to the singular academic intake. However, flexibility is offered for students facing financial challenges.
  • Additional Formalities at Registration: Upon arrival and completing the registration process, all international students are required to undergo a medical examination at the Civil Hospital.
  • Hostel Problem Reporting: Report any hostel-related issues to the Hostel Warden/Asst. Hostel Warden and inform the IRC International Relations Cell (IRC) for follow-up.
  • Hostel Room Allotment: Hostel rooms are assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis, subject to room availability and payment of hostel fees.
