Prof. Shiva Bansal is a dedicated academician and researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering, currently pursuing his PhD at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Punjab, with specialization in Mechanics and Design (Mechanical Engineering). His research focuses on advanced composite materials, fracture mechanics, cohesive-zone modelling, nanomaterial-modified adhesive joints, and the environmental durability of composite structures.
He possesses strong expertise in fiber reinforced polymer composites, digital image correlation (DIC), experimental mechanics, fracture mechanics, weathering analysis, and multiphysics systems. His academic and research contributions include publications in reputed international journals and presentations at international conferences, particularly in the areas of composite T-joints, CNT-modified epoxy adhesives, and friction stir welding.
Prof. Bansal has also served as an Assistant Professor, where he taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanics and Design while handling academic and administrative responsibilities.
His technical proficiency includes advanced experimental techniques such as UTM, DMA, SEM, FESEM, 3D Printing, and DIC, as well as software tools such as Abaqus, MATLAB-based analysis tools, and ImageJ.
