Recycled Plastic Aggregates in Non-Structural Concrete/Paver Blocks for Indian Urban Areas |
This project investigates the use of recycled plastic aggregates as a partial replacement for fine or coarse natural aggregates in non-structural concrete and paver blocks tailored for Indian urban infrastructure applications. By incorporating ground and processed plastic waste—such as from bottles and bags—into concrete mixes, the project aims to produce cost-effective, environmentally friendly paving blocks with acceptable mechanical properties suitable for sidewalks, walkways, and light-duty urban surfaces. |

Retrofitting Talaricheruvu Rural School: A Climate-Responsive Adaptive Reuse Model for Rural Education |
The Retrofitting of Talaricheruvu Rural School proposes a low-cost, climate-sensitive upgrade of a 15-year-old school building using adaptive reuse and vernacular-inspired solutions. Instead of demolishing the structure, the design integrates new elements for ventilation, daylighting, and thermal comfort while reusing local, salvaged materials. |
