Home INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY Electronics & Communication Engineering Industry Visit
An industrial visit to a 66/25 KV traction substation provides an opportunity to explore the operations involved in managing high-voltage electrical systems for railway networks. The focus is on understanding how electrical power is transformed from 66 kV to 25 kV to supply trains, including the functioning of transformers, protection devices, and control systems. The student also learnt about the safety measures, maintenance practices, and the importance of the substation in supporting smooth and uninterrupted train operations.
Industry Profile:
Mundra port is known for its customer centric approach by providing higher productivity,
innovation logistics solutions, faster turnaround of vessels and faster evacuation of containers from
the port through double stacked trains. 5 Natural gateway to cargo clusters in North & North west
India offering undisputable logistics cost advantage to exporters & importers. Flagship port with
efficient multi-modal transport connectivity for seamless movement of cargo. Four containerter
minals with a combined capacity of 7.5 million TEUs. State-of the-art port that can accommodate
leviathans of sea. More than 35 services operating from Mundra offering global coverage of trade
lanes. We saw vessel and trucks by the bus when we leave main port. Faculty co-ordinator explain
some thigs wonderfully. We laughing together, also enjoy some jokes and games.

Objective
The primary objective of the industrial visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the real-time functioning of a thermal power plant. By visiting the Bhavnagar Thermal Power Station, students gained a deeper understanding of how electricity is generated using thermal energy, how various components like boilers, turbines, and control systems operate, and how power is managed and transmitted efficiently. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and actual industrial practices, thereby enhancing students' technical knowledge, observational skills, and interest in power system engineering..
About Activities:
During the visit, students were guided through various sections of the power plant including: • Boiler Unit – Introduction to steam generation and combustion process.
• Turbine Section – Demonstration of energy conversion from thermal to mechanical and then to electrical.
• Control Room – Understanding centralized control and monitoring of power plant operations.
• Cooling System & Ash Handling – Insight into thermal efficiency and waste management.
Engineers and staff at the station explained each process in detail, and interactive sessions were held to clarify student doubts. The visit was successfully accomplished under the valuable guidance and coordination of Prof. Jaydipsinh Parmar, Prof. Disha Siddhapura, and Prof. Pankaj Chaudhary, whose efforts ensured a well-organized and educational experience for all the participating students.
Conclusion
The industrial visit to the GNITE Thermal Power Station was highly beneficial. It provided students with valuable insights into large-scale power production and helped them relate their theoretical knowledge to practical applications. The coordination and support of the faculty members made the visit informative and well-Organized
The Department of Electrical Engineering and electronics has organised an industry visit at SCADA WORKSHOP & FILTER PLANT - TAKHTESHWAR for diploma engineering students of the 2nd , 4 th & 6 th semester. It was organised on March 6th, 2024 (Wednesday). This industrial visit is very helpful to students in their future practical lives and brings about a positive change in their thinking and practical behavior regarding education and specializing their technical skills. Under the guidance of Prof. Prof. Manoj Tukadiya, Prof. Bhavik Vaghela and Prof. Dhanush Khasiya , students gained much knowledge and were inspired.
On 22nd August, 2024, the students of Gyanmanjari Innovative University, from Diploma 3rd Semester, Diploma 5th Semester, and Degree 3rd Semester, had the opportunity to visit the Water Purification Plant at Takhteshwar, Bhavnagar. The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to water treatment processes and enhance their understanding of the theoretical concepts learned in their coursework
