This workshop was organized by the Department of Information Technology to enhance students’ understanding of cybersecurity as a critical aspect of modern digital life. The session focused on building awareness of cyber risks, responsible digital behavior, and the importance of a security-first mindset. It aimed to help students recognize how everyday technology usage impacts data safety, academic integrity, and professional credibility, thereby strengthening their preparedness for a technology-driven future.

The Android App Development Workshop provided students with comprehensive insights into mobile application development. Mr. Divyam Oza, an expert in the field, guided participants through the essentials of Android development, including the app structure, UI design, activity lifecycle, data management, and API integration. The workshop featured real-time demonstrations and hands-on coding sessions, enabling students to develop and test Android applications effectively.

The primary objective of the expert talk on Mobile Application Development was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals and latest trends in mobile app development. The session aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices by introducing real-world applications, development tools, and frameworks commonly used in the field.

The Department of Information Technology, GMIU Bhavnagar, organized a hands-on workshop on “Offense Meets Defense: Cyber Security with Kali Linux” on 25th August 2025. Conducted by Mr. Smit Patel from Kavayah Cybersecurity Pvt. Ltd., the session provided students with practical exposure to ethical hacking, penetration testing, and defensive security techniques. Around 80 students actively participated, gaining insights into real-world cyber threats and learning to implement essential security measures using Kali Linux. The workshop successfully bridged theoretical knowledge with practical skills, inspiring students to explore cybersecurity as a career path.
