Switch gear is an integral part of an electric power system. Switchgear includes fuses, switches, relays, isolators, circuit breaker, potential and current transformer, indicating device, lightning arresters, etc. that protects electrical hardware from faulty conditions

The High Voltage Laboratory is equipped to perform full scale high voltage testing. The laboratory is therefore equipped with three AC transformers for 500 kV which can be arranged in cascade to make up to 1500 kV, and a 20 stage lightning impulse generator up to 4 MV and 200 kJ

The Laboratory is equipped with conventional and modern electronics IC kits. Also equipped with digital IC trainers, GATE kits etc.

This Laboratory is equipped with Single Phase and Three Phase AC to DC Converters, different types of DC-DC Choppers, Single Phase AC Voltage Controllers, Cyclo-converters, Single Phase and Three Phase Inverters.

In this lab, students take all the information they need for all kinds of machines, such as the generators, motors, and transformers
